Mother-Daughter Activity #5

MAKING HOMEMADE GIFTS
Ava and I have been having a wonderful time making our homemade sugar scrubs for the past few years. We absolutely adore this recipe and it has become a tradition for us to make extra jars for ourselves whenever we prepare these delightful Christmas gifts. They are just perfect for spreading joy to moms, sisters, friends, nieces, and teachers!

EASY. AFFORDABLE. PRACTICAL... AND FUN TO MAKE!

INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup Coconut Oil

3/4 – 1 cup Granulated White Sugar

10-15 drops of Essential Oils or Extract Drops

2-4 drops of Food Coloring optional

Mini Canning Jars with Lids

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Melt coconut oil in the microwave for 20-35 seconds, or until melted.

  2. Pour sugar into the oil and mix. If too runny, add a small amount of sugar and continue mixing.

  3. Add Essential Oils and Extract drops (if you’re blending) to achieve the scent you desire. You can mix the whole large bowl of all one scent or add different scents into each small canning jar.

  4. Add food coloring to make the color you desire. Also helps to identify different scents.

This recipe makes 2-3 small cups of scrub.

Melt coconut oil in the microwave. Pour sugar into melted oil.

Add essential oils and/or extract drops for the desired scent.

Add food coloring if desired.

Add a gift tag with instructions if desired with ribbon or twine around the cover. Include small wooden spoons. The spoons from the top pic I bought from Shein, they are thicker and nicer, but you don't get as many in a pack.
