Mother-Daughter Activity #2

Updated: Feb 4

Baking!
I understand that it can get a bit messy when you have a little helper in the kitchen, but let me tell you, it's absolutely worth it. Cooking with my daughter Ava has been such a joy and it's not just about the food, but also about teaching her real life skills. We've been cooking together since she was just 3 years old and it has become one of our favorite bonding activities. I could go on and on showing you countless pictures, but here are a few of my absolute favorites and some of the funniest moments we've had in the kitchen.

She absolutely adores baking, especially her favorite recipes for cut-out sugar cookies with frosting and sprinkles, and delicious molasses cookies. I often wonder if she enjoys the process of baking or if she simply revels in being the designated taste tester...hmmm??? Either way, we both enjoy it so much.

Sugar cutout cookie recipe to follow! And the adorable aprons, hand-sewn by my mother, of course!
